“We have made our decision” INEOS chief finally responds to calls for Man Utd to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer after star confirms he will leave PSG

Sir Dave Brailsford, the director of sport at INEOS, who is set to join the INEOS board overseeing Manchester United following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s imminent takeover, rejected a Manchester United fan’s plea regarding the prospect of signing Kylian Mbappe.

Recent reports unveiled Mbappe’s notification to Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi about his desire to depart the club upon the expiry of his contract this summer, sparking interest from top clubs across Europe in what could mark one of football’s most significant free transfers.

In an unexpected encounter with a young supporter, Brailsford was questioned about any potential pursuits of Mbappe for Manchester United.

Brailsford chuckled in response, suggesting that Mbappe seems inclined towards a move to Real Madrid.

While Premier League competitors Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with potential moves for Mbappe in the upcoming summer transfer window, it is widely speculated that Real Madrid are leading the race to secure his services.

With Mbappe’s contract with PSG entering its final six months, he has been free to engage in negotiations with other clubs since January 1st.

Reports suggest that Real Madrid have extended an offer to Mbappe, albeit at a lower rate compared to PSG’s previous offer to retain him.

Nevertheless, Madrid’s offer remains on the table, and Mbappe is reportedly aware of the terms proposed at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite ongoing negotiations between Mbappe and Madrid, no agreement has been finalized yet. While Mbappe acknowledged ongoing discussions during a meeting with Al-Khelaifi, Real Madrid are still viewed as the frontrunners to secure his signature.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are anticipated to seek a new forward during the summer transfer window.

Club officials are purportedly in search of an experienced goal scorer to provide assistance to young talent Rasmus Hojlund, who has been gradually acclimatizing to life in England after a slow start.

As the saga surrounding Mbappe’s future continues to unfold, attention remains fixed on developments at Real Madrid and the potential ramifications for Manchester United’s transfer strategies in the upcoming season.
