Ederson with the BIG mistake which lead to the goal, not the first time!
Ederson, Manchester City’s custodian, made a costly blunder that allowed Copenhagen to equalise in their Champions League match.
City had grabbed the lead in the round of 16 first leg tie thanks to Kevin De Bruyne, but an error by Ederson allowed Copenhagen’s Magnus Mattsson to level.
Ederson collected a back pass, but his subsequent ball out lacked conviction, falling to Mohamed Elyounoussi, whose attempt was stopped.
Mattsson then took control and scored, much to the pleasure of the home crowd at Parken Stadium.
Ederson was distraught after the goal, but City made him feel better by restoring their advantage before halftime thanks to Bernardo Silva.
Ederson’s error remained a huge talking point, with some onlookers stunned that the typically dependable 30-year-old made such a serious mistake.
Mark Goldbridge, a famous YouTuber and Manchester United fan, was ecstatic about Ederson’s blunder.
He wrote, ‘Ederson the best sweeper keeper in the league….he couldn’t sweep the leaves in the local park’.
Paddy Power added: “Beautiful pre-assist from Ederson.” Excellent ball-playing abilities.
One user wrote: ‘Ederson you moron WTF was that???!!!’.
Meanwhile, another said, ‘Ederson hasn’t done a clanger like that in ages, so I’ll pretend I didn’t see it’.
Another user commented: “LOL the only way to score against City is to hope Ederson makes a mistake.” Mental, but excellent finish.
