Coming from Fabrizio Romano this Morning Premier league top Four Manager has been sacked today after a staggering Defeat Yesterda
Jurgen Klopp has urged Liverpool fans to ignore about his impending departure and focus on tonight’s game. Chelsea head to Anfield as Mauricio Pochettino’s team seeks a statement victory over the league leaders.
The Liverpool manager stated last week that he would leave the club at the conclusion of the season. Klopp has become synonymous with Liverpool since joining the Merseyside club in October 2015, and he will try to finish his final season with a large trophy haul, however Chelsea will look to knock Liverpool out at the first hurdle in the forthcoming Carabao Cup final.
Throughout the rest of the season, Klopp’s decision and Liverpool’s probable successor will be the subject of much discussion. However, the 56-year-old coach is well aware that Chelsea would be desperate to derail the joyous atmosphere at Anfield.
“This is definitely an occasion to forget that the manager is leaving at the end of the season and to do everything that we can as a collective to make it as uncomfortable as we possibly can for a really strong opponent,” Klopp wrote in his pre-match notes. “If we can do this together, we will definitely create an opportunity to take another step forward.”
Chelsea may pull within one point of West Ham in fifth place with a win at Anfield, while Liverpool will look to reclaim their five-point lead at the top of the table. When questioned about the atmosphere his team may expect to encounter against Liverpool, Pochettino admitted that Chelsea intends to spoil the celebration.
“Of course.” This is a particular game for him. “Until the end, it will always be special,” Pochettino stated. “Every time they play at Anfield, it will be a celebration to celebrate and show him all the love the supporters have for him, which I believe is warranted.
“But we believe we need to go there and win the game. Sorry, but we do not want to participate or be a part of the celebration. We hope to perform well and win the game.”
