Although Ratcliffe, the new minority owner of the club, hinted at the possibility of Greenwood returning to Old Trafford, it seems the striker is not keen on the idea. Reports from The Athletic indicate that Greenwood would be hesitant to move back to Manchester, feeling that the club could have provided better support and lacking any desire to represent the Red Devils again. Greenwood, aged 22, made his last appearance for Manchester United in January 2022. If he never plays for the club again, his record would stand at 35 goals in 129 appearances. Greenwood’s response follows Ratcliffe’s recent comments suggesting that Manchester United still have a long-term decision to make regarding his future. Ratcliffe emphasized the importance of assessing Greenwood’s suitability as a footballer and as a person, highlighting the club’s responsibility in making such decisions. Greenwood’s contract with Manchester United extends until the summer of 2025.
