Police detained Phil Foden’s mother after she knocked off a man’s baseball cap in a bar last September.
Claire Rowlands, 44, was detained after a tequila-fueled weekend with pals in North Wales. The Manchester City star’s mother was allegedly ejected out of a nightclub after her intoxicated actions sparked a fight, Llandudno Magistrates’ Court heard.
According to The Sun, Rowlands drank shots at a friend’s campsite before heading to a sports bar and then Bentley’s nightclub. She was asked to leave the latter location after bouncers accused her of assaulting someone, as evidenced by CCTV footage showing her knocking a baseball cap off a man’s head and attempting to put it back on.
“I was just drunk,” Rowlands said in court. “I was having some fun. I had done it to a lad before. It was just a little fun, really.”

Rowlands was found not guilty of assault. She guilty to drunk and disorderly behaviour, which resulted in a £100 fine, £85 in court costs, and a £40 surcharge.
She proceeded to tell the court, “I was inebriated. It was just a bit of fun and banter. I couldn’t think I might get in trouble for knocking off someone’s cap. “It’s my party trick to knock someone’s cap off and put it back on.”
Rowlands allegedly urged police officers to “f*** off” after being kicked out of the nightclub. She was arrested and spent the night in the cells. She stated in her police interview that she “kicked off” with the policemen. “I was a bit of a b****.”
Rowlands also told the cops, “I don’t drink much, but when I do, I make up for it. “I’m like an animal.”
Duncan Campbell, chairman of Llandudno Magistrates’ Court, told Rowlands: “It is evident that you were inebriated at the time, playing around and having fun. It is up to the prosecution to prove beyond reasonable doubt that you meant to use force.
“It is telling that Mr Shortman did not attend, and that your acts were not voluntary. As a result, we found you not guilty.
Rowlands’ son Foden is one of England’s most prominent footballers, having played for the national side 31 times at senior level. The 23-year-old has made 248 appearances for City and won various honours, including five Premier League titles and the Champions League.
