“I don’t know what he has against us he is always full of himself ” – Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez claims Argentina teammate always gets overconfident when facing the Blues
Emiliano Martinez overconfidence when facing Chelsea is something that Enzo Fernandez has acknowledged. The FA Cup match between the two Argentines takes place at Stamford Bridge next week, where the Blues meet Aston Villa in the fourth round.
In an interview with ESPN, Fernandez stated that although he thinks the former Arsenal goalie is a little too “cocky,” he is excited to play him in the FA Cup. The general mindset, he continued, is the same anytime Martinez plays Chelsea:
The standout midfield player also discussed the regulation modification that prohibited goalies from scaring their opponents in the penalty shootout (per GOAL in 2023:
“I read about the regulation change, but I didn’t understand it very well. It’s part of football legend, therefore I’m not sure if it’s correct or wrong. It’s also true that you want to murder Dibu if he is against you because he is so unpleasant.”Fool, he’s insane. It’s worse, though, if you have it working against you. In my opinion, what he does is normal, but perhaps people in Europe or other regions of the world find it objectionable.”

Emiliano Martinez is gushing about Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea.
When Emiliano Martinez spoke with TyC Sports last year, he was all love for Enzo Fernandez.
He claimed (via Albiceleste Talk) that the Chelsea player was crucial to Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup victory because of his maturity.:
“Enzo is so arrogant! Despite having just played one friendly match for his country, he qualified for the World Cup with the experience of having played 350 games.”He shot a bicycle after putting the ball in the corner. He astonished me as a person as well as a player. Paredes, De Paul, and Gio Lo Celso were untouchable since they had performed admirably in the midst. A splinter!”
Fernandez’s year at Stamford Bridge has been difficult due to their inability to find consistency. After 21 games this season, they are now ninth in the league, having finished 12th the previous season.
