Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, has given a huge Kevin De Bruyne team news indication ahead of Saturday’s Premier League encounter against Newcastle United.

This weekend, the Sky Blues travel to St James’ Park to face Eddie Howe’s faltering Newcastle team in their first Premier League encounter of 2024.

The Magpies have lost their last eight Premier League games against Manchester City and have fallen to ninth in the rankings after winning just one of their last five games.

Last weekend, both clubs won the Emirates FA Cup, with City defeating Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium and Newcastle defeating Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Kevin De Bruyne made his third appearance for Manchester City this season last weekend, appearing for the first time in five months after undergoing surgery for a persistent hamstring ailment.

The Belgian has been practicing with Manchester City’s first squad since December and might make his debut against Newcastle on Saturday evening, according to Guardiola.

“Kevin De Bruyne is ready to start and I can see he is very good and the trip to Abu Dhabi will do him good too,” Guardiola stated.

“I saw him yesterday, and he looks and feels wonderful. He performed admirably, even better than in the sessions preceding Huddersfield. He is improving.”

Manchester City can close the gap on league leaders Liverpool to two points with a win on Tyneside, but they will be without Erling Haaland and John Stones.
