If Real Madrid is unable to get Kylian Mbappé, they may consider signing Manchester City star Erling Haaland.
According to insiders, the Spanish club would only have to pay half of his Manchester City release clause.
According to the Daily Mail, the Spanish giants simply need to pay half of Haaland’s release clause at Manchester City to sign him.
The La Liga club is presently pursuing the signing of Kylian Mbappe, who is allowed to sign a pre-contract with the club of his choice as he enters the final six months of his deal at PSG.
However, the Frenchman is claimed to be “unimpressed” with Madrid’s efforts to sign him. If Mbappe’s signing is not completed, Carlo Ancelotti’s team may make a play for Haaland.
The prolific Norwegian striker would be ideal for filling the void left by Karim Benzema. Since joining the Premier League champions for £51 million from Borussia Dortmund, he has scored 71 goals and provided 14 assists in 75 games.
Real Madrid’s offence is being led by Joselu, who isn’t performing at the appropriate level, or by Vinicius or Rodrygo, who aren’t natural strikers.
Los Blancos have yet to replace Benzema, who left to join Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.
The known value of Haaland’s release clause is about €200 (£172) million, and it only applies to English Premier League teams. Teams in other leagues may sign him for half that price.
Haaland would be a steal for the La Liga giants at that price.
