Ruben Amorim is reportedly reshaping his squad, pushing three Man United stars closer to the exit door while offering one to top European clubs in search of a solution

Ruben Amorim is reportedly making decisive moves as he seeks to restructure Manchester United’s squad, with plans to offload three players by 2025, one of whom has already been offered to FC Barcelona. The Portuguese manager, who has endured a difficult start at Old Trafford with consecutive defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest, appears determined to overhaul the team alongside the club’s co-owners, INEOS.
Manchester United currently languishes in 13th place in the Premier League standings, eight points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester City, signaling a far cry from title contention. Amorim is said to be planning a significant rebuild of the squad next year, although financial constraints are expected to limit any major activity during the January transfer window.
Reports indicate that Amorim and the club are prepared to put more than half of the current squad up for sale to generate funds for both January and summer signings. According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the manager has been granted the authority to reshape the team, but this will require a substantial clear-out. Players such as Amad Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, and Andre Onana are reportedly deemed untouchable, along with a few other key figures.
Meanwhile, Amorim has taken a firm stance on certain underperforming stars and has identified Antony, Christian Eriksen, and Marcus Rashford as players to be sold. The decision to include Rashford on this list has raised eyebrows, given his previous importance to the club. However, reports suggest that the forward’s recent struggles on the pitch, combined with criticism of his off-field lifestyle, have led Amorim to exclude him from future plans. Rashford has reportedly been offered to Barcelona, where the club’s sporting director, Deco, is evaluating him as a potential option. Although Rashford’s current form is a concern, Deco is aware of his past reputation as one of Europe’s most talented forwards.
Amorim’s assertive approach signals his commitment to transforming Manchester United’s fortunes, but it remains to be seen how fans will react to the potential departure of big-name players like Rashford. These bold decisions highlight the manager’s determination to establish a new direction for the team, despite the challenges ahead.
