Gary Neville immediately trolls Arsenal Fans after Comedy Goal & VAR drama in West Ham United Game

Gary Neville made fun of Arsenal right after West Ham scored the first goal against the Gunners.

After 13 minutes of their Premier League match, Jarrod Bowen of West Ham poked the ball across goal for Tomas Soucek, who was free in the box and scored the first goal past David Raya in the Arsenal goal.

But after a long VAR check, the officials tried to figure out if the ball went out before Bowen could get to it.

Soon after, the goal was scored, even though it wasn’t “clear and obvious” that the ball had been taken out of play.

This happened similar to a problem that happened a few months ago when Arsenal was angry that Newcastle got a goal even though, among other things, they thought the ball had left the floor in the buildup.

In a news conference after the game, Mikel Arteta was angry about the decision. Neville, on the other hand, went on Sky Sports to basically explain how perspective and spheres work.

And right after Arsenal lost to West Ham, Neville shared a video of the above explainer along with a bunch of ‘laughing’ emojis.

Then he put up a picture of himself on X looking over a ball on the edge of the byline, which made some Arsenal fans very angry.

Since it’s not clear if the ball went out of play before Soucek’s goal, Jay Bothroyd, a former Arsenal, Cardiff, and England international with one cap, told Sky Sports News that VAR should be able to see more of the play.

“The Premier League spends a lot of money on football-related things, but there’s only one point of view in these situations,” he said.

“That was too far away to zoom in on, so there’s no bird’s-eye view or view from the other side.” This should already be taken care of.

“Those are the specifics they need to finish.” Based on what they saw, that was a bad choice if it was out and you set a goal.

“Those are the things everyone is frustrated with in football right now.”
