Manchester United begin internal talks to buy an English striker amid their summer spending spree. The club has once again backed the manager, and it is now up to the manager and the players to rise to the occasion after finishing eighth in the Premier League last season, their lowest ever finish.

Manchester United are targeting a new striker this summer as they aim to bolster their attack under the guidance of INEOS. Last season, the Red Devils’ offense struggled, managing only 57 goals in the Premier League.

To remedy this and compensate for the departure of Anthony Martial, United are prepared to sign new players to enhance their offensive capabilities.

In addition to their interest in Joshua Zirkzee, the club is also eyeing another forward.

The Athletic reports that internal discussions have taken place regarding the potential signings of Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Both players face uncertain futures at their current clubs, having entered the final year of their contracts, and it seems unlikely they will renew.

Targeting Toney or Calvert-Lewin indicates Manchester United’s intention to enter the new season with three strikers, alongside Rasmus Hojlund and the prospective signing of Bologna’s Dutch forward Zirkzee. This aggressive approach reflects the ambition of new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe following his arrival at the club.

With the managerial situation of Erik ten Hag settled, the Red Devils are now actively pursuing market opportunities to enhance their squad.

The summer transfer window promises to be busy for Manchester United. They are also pursuing a defender, having made moves for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Lille’s Leny Yoro, and are in talks with Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt.

The club is providing strong backing to the manager, placing the onus on ten Hag and his players to deliver improved performances after last season’s disappointing eighth-place finish.

The FA Cup victory against Manchester City has given the owners hope for a brighter future, and they are determined to use this transfer window to address the squad’s deficiencies.
