Mauricio Pochettino, manager of Chelsea, has stated that he will continue to play Reece James regardless of form.

James has struggled after returning from a long-term hamstring ailment.

“We’re competing and want to win, but what’s best for Reece is time and game time,” Pochettino said on Friday. “If not, it is difficult for him to be fit.”

Pochettino also spoke about James’ captaincy.
“He’s doing fantastically well, and I’m very proud of him.” He is assisting the club, his teammates, and every choice in which he is involved.

“He is always upbeat and striving to do his best.” But keep in mind that for any captain who is unable to play due to injury or another issue, it is tough to feel involved. But he’s doing an excellent job, and I’m quite pleased with him.”
