A Chelsea official wants to sign a player for €120 million – walexsports.com
It is said that one of Chelsea’s owners has made it pretty clear who he wants to sign and when he wants to sign them. The January transfer window is coming up soon.
At least, that’s what a long story on Chelsea’s search for a striker today says.
Simon Phillips, who works for Chelsea, posted his most recent updates on his Subtsack site today. They are all about forwards, and they include new information about both Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Ivan Toney of Brentford.
Phillips wrote, “I understand that one high-level member of the Chelsea hierarchy wants a new striker as soon as possible, and that member of the team wants Victor Osimhen.”
The name of the Chelsea official is not given, but it seems likely that it is either Todd Boehly or Behdad Eghbali.
There are, of course, a lot of people at Chelsea right now who make decisions about recruitment besides the two big owners. So everyone will have a say in who gets to be the new striker, even if one of the present owners makes it clear who they want!
Transfermarkt says that Osimhen is worth €120 million right now.
