Liverpool manager Jürgen gives Verdict on what happened between Pep Guardiola and Darwin Nunez at Full Time

Jurgen Klopp says what happened between Pep Guardiola and Darwin Nunez is over.

Jurgen Klopp played down the fight between Pep Guardiola and Darwin Nunez on the sidelines after Liverpool’s tough tie with Manchester City.

Soon after the 1-1 Premier League tie at the Etihad on Saturday afternoon, Nunez and the City manager got into a lively conversation.

Klopp had to step in and grab Nunez to get him away before things got worse. Other coaches also stepped in to help.

But the manager of the Reds thinks it was just a case of strong feelings and not a sign of a growing dislike between the two teams.

“It’s not about how much we hate each other,” Klopp said. I’m not sure what you want to say about that. There’s no anger between us; we’re just peers. Who or what is a tough rival? In challenges, where do you see that on the pitch?

“What happened after the game has nothing to do with a rivalry that has been very strong in the past.” Darwin Nunez probably doesn’t know anything about that!

“Emotions. The fact that I wasn’t participating makes me doubt that I should be the one to explain it. I had nothing to do with it. Personally, I care about both of them, so I tried to make things calm down even though I had no idea what had happened.

“I really believe there isn’t anything that needs to be fixed.” It’s feelings. We all want to win, including Pep. Both of them lost, so it’s clear that no one is really happy. These things can happen on any given day.
