“He is pivotal to City and massively underrated. They are not the same without him and he is better than Kelvin De Bruyne but he is underrated”-Trent Alexander-Arnold admits £63m Man City player is ‘massively underrated

Trent Alexander-Arnold has said that Manchester City midfielder Rodri is a player he greatly admires, and someone he feels is ‘massively underrated’.

The international break has now commenced and many of City’s stars will be jetting off to join up with their national teams.

Rodri – who cost around City £63 million – will be in action for Spain, with their final Euro 2024 qualifiers against Cyprus and Georgia coming up this week.

Hopefully, Rodri can come through unscathed because this season has highlighted just how vital he is to City.

This is not lost on Liverpool full-back Alexander-Arnold, who reckons the 27-year-old is ‘pivotal’ for Pep Guardiola… Trent Alexander-Arnold claims Manchester City star Rodri is ‘massively underrated’ This season, Rodri has been superb once again for City.

He received an unnecessary red card against Nottingham Forest before the final international break, causing him to miss three games.

City lost every game he wasn’t in.

During these difficult times, his influence is clearly seen.

In Alexander-Arnold’s eyes, he is very important to Man City and is still not fully appreciated as he should be.

The 25-year-old, who recently started playing as a midfielder at Anfield, said (via Daily Mail): “I admire Rodri.

He is essential to City and massively underrated.

They wouldn’t be the same without him.

Last week, Pep himself said he could not deny Rodri’s importance to him.

Josko Gvardiol also recently said Rodri blew him away with his ball control.

Rodri is the best midfielder today It’s nice to hear Trent praise Rodri like that.

He is perhaps not the only top player to have such an opinion about the City maestro.

Somehow it always feels like Rodri is underrated.

He does everything you could want your quarterback to do.

Now he even offers a real attacking threat, as evidenced by the four goals and five assists he has recorded so far this season.
