Totheham Huspor Manager Ange Postecoglou breaks silence over a VAR chaotic night defeat to Chelsea with a strong warning to Pochettino.

Ange Postecoglou has voiced his concerns about the problems plaguing football due to the use of VAR, asserting that many of these issues have arisen due to the sport’s own actions.

This comes in the wake of a tumultuous weekend in the Premier League, with Mikel Arteta criticizing the “embarrassing” decisions in Arsenal’s game against Newcastle and further controversy surrounding officiating during Tottenham’s 4-1 loss to Chelsea.

In the match, multiple goals were disallowed, three red card situations went unpunished, and Cristian Romero received a red card after VAR intervention. The game was marked by extensive checks and delays, with 12 minutes of added time at the end of the first half and another nine minutes in the second.

Postecoglou expressed his discontent with the considerable waiting times necessitated by these decisions but suggested that the criticism of officials is partly to blame for these issues. He stated that he doesn’t like the current state of the game, which is leaning towards increased scrutiny and interruptions.

He also mentioned that further changes might be on the horizon, including the possibility of referees being mic’d up, as seen in other sports. Postecoglou emphasized the importance of respecting the referee’s decisions and warned against the ongoing undermining of the referee’s authority, which is transferring control to someone with a TV screen miles away.

Despite the controversies and challenges faced, he acknowledged that these issues are a part of the game and have been for many years.
