“He made a lot of Errors in the Manchester City Vs Arsenal defeat that was the reason why he didn’t played yesterday”- Pep Guardiola have coated stirs online after Key City player didn’t play despite being fit

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has explained why Ederson didn’t start the match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

After the most recent international break, City played its first Premier League match back, defeating Roberto De Zerbi’s team 2-1 with goals from Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland.

But doubts concerning one player who wasn’t included in the starting lineup on this occasion—Ederson—were raised before the game even began, and Guardiola was confronted with them before the game even began.

Guardiola explains why Ederson is sitting out.

When asked why Ederson wasn’t in the starting lineup to face Brighton, Guardiola responded as quoted by Sky Sports in a statement to the media.

“He could play,” he replied, “but we decided to give him a little rest.”

Prior to the match against Brighton, the Brazilian has played every minute of Premier League action for the Citizens this season, so it’s understandable that seeing him on the bench this afternoon sparked some questions.

But this, together with the fact that Ederson, 30, played the entire 90 minutes in Brazil’s most recent international games against Venezuela and Uruguay, demonstrates why Guardiola saw the need to rest Ederson on this particular occasion.

Ederson has faced 16 shots on goal in his eight league appearances so far this season and has managed to block 11 of them, giving him a save percentage of 62.5%.

The Brazilian international was replaced for the match against Brighton by Stefan Ortega Moreno, who made his first Premier League appearance of the year but still managed to make two saves that helped his team win all three points.

We believe it’s probable the Brazilian will return to goal sooner rather than later now that Guardiola has given him a break after his hectic start to the season and recent international performances.
