“If Manchester City allow him to join us on loan by January, we will use him to help them stop Arsenal from winning the league”- Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is seriously begging Pep Guardiola to allow him sign Manchester City brilliant star on loan by January as he plans to use the player’s quality to play in the Champions League next season

Kalvin Phillips has battled for playing time since joining Manchester City from Leeds United in the summer of 2022, and it appears that the midfielder has decided to go.

Kalvin Phillips wants to leave Manchester City and join Newcastle United in the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.

Kalvin Phillips wishes to transfer from Manchester City to Newcastle United.
Newcastle Sporting Director Dan Ashworth has met with CAA Stellar, Phillips’ agency.

The 27-year-old England international midfielder is “eager to move” to Newcastle because he “want[s] more first-team football in the build-up to Euro 2024.”

TEAMtalk adds that Phillips is not in City manager Pep Guardiola’s plans, stating that the midfielder has been told he is free to depart.

Manchester City should be careful of selling Kalvin Phillips to Newcastle United, in my opinion.
Now I see why Manchester City would be prepared to offload Kalvin Phillips during the January transfer window.

Phillips, described as “unreal” by West Ham United star Michail Antonio, is a bit player at the Citizens.

Phillips has played only 70 minutes in the Premier League this season and made only two league starts last season.

So, certainly, City should cut their losses on a player they paid £42 million for from Leeds United.

However, if at all possible, the defending Premier League champions should not sell Phillips to Newcastle.

Newcastle United are a resurgent force in English football and could fight for the Premier League title this season and in the years ahead.

Selling Phillips to Newcastle would only improve Eddie Howe’s team.

Bayern Munich is rumored to be interested in signing Phillips.

City might consider offering the midfielder to the Bundesliga winners instead.
