According to the Spanish news agency, the £14.1m Argentina international is dissatisfied at Manchester City.
SPORT understands that Alvarez would like to be one of the first names on the teamsheet abroad and a primary main – as things stand, he is in the shadow of Erling Haaland.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are thought to have already held conversations with the 23-year-old’s representation in an attempt to take advantage of the situation.
According to SPORT, Alvarez is willing to wait until the end of the 2023/24 season to assess how his situation looks at that point before making a fuss and demanding anything.
According to the report, Barcelona will struggle to fund a deal for the Argentine unless a large sale is made at the Camp Nou.
This rumour follows an ESPN report that Phillips is evaluating his future at Manchester City after being snubbed by Pep Guardiola in Rodri’s absence.
