Manchester City Outcast Kelvin Phillips Sends Pep Guardiola a warning message in an interview yesterday

After the break for the international break, Manchester City will begin defending their Premier League title.

Losses to Wolves and Arsenal back-to-back will give Pep Guardiola and his all-star team greater drive on Saturday afternoon when they return to domestic affairs. The match between City and Brighton will take place at the Etihad Stadium next.

Over the past week or so, a number of players have played for their various nations, including the five players who played for England against Italy on Tuesday night, with John Stones accelerating his injury comeback.

Since he hasn’t played much for City this season, Kalvin Phillips blamed his lacklustre performance for England in their victory over Italy on that. He also acknowledged that he might soon need to “make a decision” about his future.

At Wembley, the Three Lions overcame a deficit to defeat Luciano Spalletti’s team 3-1 to clinch qualification for the European Championships in Germany the following summer. Gareth Southgate’s team roared back after falling behind after just 15 minutes with goals from Harry Kane (two) and Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.

Rodri, like some other prominent European players, has ruled out a potential transfer to Saudi Arabia.

When Rodri served a three-game suspension for a red card received last month, City lost all three games, underscoring the importance of the midfielder. Rodri will be back in the starting lineup for City against Brighton after returning to action for Spain during the international break as they qualified for Euro 2024.

After joining City from Atletico Madrid in 2019, Rodri was questioned by Spanish media about whether he would think about going back home or to other countries after his time at City is over. The 27-year-old described his dedication to City while under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2027.
