Rasheem Sterling’s future with England is in real doubt according to Gareth Southgate.
The second time in a row, Southgate has left Sterling out of his latest Three Lions team. This is because they have games coming up against Australia and Italy. The Chelsea star has been told that he is no longer sure to play because there are so many other good players who want to play.
He could have played 82 times for his country and scored 20 goals. He says this doesn’t matter much now that he has so much talent at his hands, though.

She said, “We’re really happy with the wide players we chose.” Marcus Rashford, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, and Jack Grealish have all been good for us over and over again. The end result is that there is a lot of great competition for spots on the floor. Without a doubt, there is now a fight.

Southgate has picked nine forwards, but he has chosen Jarrod Bowen over Sterling. Ollie Watkins, John Stones, and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all been called up after getting hurt.
Harry Maguire, who used to play for Manchester United but is now with Arsenal, is also on the team. Southgate also chose Bukayo Saka, even though there were worries about the Arsenal star’s fitness. Southgate has, on the other hand, questioned FIFA’s plan to hold the World Cup on three different countries in 2030.
“My big thing is I don’t quite get the integrity of the competition,” he said.
“From what I understand, three games are played in South America. After that, the teams have to travel around the world, change time zones, and start the competition with home field advantage in one part of the group but not in another.” I’m not a fan of what I’ve seen, so yeah.”
