Due to a VAR blunder, Jurgen Klopp wants Tottenham vs. Liverpool replayed.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that Saturday’s defeat at Tottenham Hotspur should be rescheduled because the decision to overturn Luis Diaz’s opening goal was incorrect.
The Reds were reduced to 10 men midway through the first half, but Diaz appeared to have taken a stunning lead when he sped past the final line of the Spurs defence and fired beyond Guglielmo Vicario, only to be denied by an offside flag.
VAR Darren England double-checked the outcome because he believed Diaz’s goal had been declared as onside by the on-field officials. However, as evidenced by audio given by PGMOL on Tuesday, he discovered his error when play resumed with a Tottenham free-kick.
Son Heung-min immediately forced a Liverpool goal, and Cody Gakpo answered just before halftime. Nonetheless, Joel Matip’s own goal in the waning seconds of the second half gave the home team the victory.

Klopp announced in a message to the media on Wednesday that he wants the Tottenham game replayed before Liverpool’s Europa League match against Union Saint-Gilloise.
“The audio didn’t change it [our feelings] at all because I was not interested in why things happened, I knew, I saw the outcome, I saw a goal we scored and did not count, so I was not waiting for the audio and hoping I could find out how it could happen,” he stated.
“What I want to emphasize is the importance of dealing with football correctly, given how important and significant it is for us at least.”
Everyone involved, including the fourth official, linesman, on-field referee, and, in this case, the VAR, did not do it on purpose, and it is important to remember that.
“Yes, it was a mistake, an obvious mistake, and I believe there would have been answers later, if not immediately.” Some people don’t want me to say it, but I believe the only outcome should be a replay, not as Liverpool’s manager, but as a football fan. That is how things are, and it is unlikely to change.
The counterargument will almost certainly be that once we open that gate, everyone will want to use it. I feel the situation is so unique that it has never happened before. I’ve been playing football for 50 years and am 56 years old, so I’m used to making mistakes and making difficult decisions of all kinds.
