‘My Hattrick is certain that day, and we’ll see who disgraced who that day,’ says RB Leipzig STAR player sends warning to Man City ahead of Champions League clash

After a 2-2 tie with Bayern Munich, Red Bull Leipzig midfielder Emil Forsberg is adamant that his team can compete with the best.

Just a few days prior to taking on Manchester City in the Champions League, Leipzig allowed the defending Bundesliga champions to come into their stadium with a two-goal advantage. The hosts took the lead thanks to Lois Openda and Castello Lukeba, but Bayern was able to come back with to Harry Kane and ex-City star Leroy Sane.

Benjamin Sesko was unable to finish off a cross in stoppage time to secure all three points for Leipzig, and as a result, Leipzig missed the opportunity to overtake the German heavyweights. Forsberg, who is in his tenth season with the team, expressed disappointment after the game but said the outcome showed they could compete with the best in Europe.

The midfielder admitted, “It was a tough game. “When you lead a game 2-0 at the half, it’s not always simple to hold on to the lead. Bayern is an extremely gifted team that never quits. At all times, we had to maintain complete attention.

But we also shown that we work well together. We must now turn our attention to the upcoming matchup with Manchester City and prepare fully for it.

Janis Blaswich, the goalkeeper, was equally devastated by the outcome but kept his attention on Man City in midweek. The 32-year-old attempted to block Kane’s penalty kick in the 57th minute but was unsuccessful.

We played quite well in the first half, therefore the final score of 2-2 is upsetting for us, Blaswich continued. The second half was challenging, especially because we gave up the equalizer just after winning a corner. That is not something we can tolerate.

“On the penalty, I opted for the right corner, but sadly it wasn’t enough. Kane struck it too hard. Again, the game’s conclusion was incredibly tense. We will now review the contest and be ready for our rematch against Manchester City on Wednesday.
