Several websites, including Caughtoffside, believe Mauricio Pochettino will maintain the lineup from the previous game, with Ben Chilwell remaining on the bench and Levi Colwill remaining at left back.
The supporters don’t like this lineup; they like Chilwell to play left back in order to support whoever lines up on the left flank, probably Mykhailo Mudryk, as he did last week.
We’re undecided; it’s obvious that Pochettino like using Colwill as a slender left back because he kept him in that position last week even after deciding Chilwell’s time as a winger was gone.
Pochettino might very well come around against Aston Villa and eventually do what the vast majority of fans desire. On the other hand, knowing how strong Villa are, is it impossible that Chilwell returns, this time on the wing?
If so, there will be a few meltdowns. 5 goals in 5 games is not acceptable, and regardless of how it actually plays out on the field, a move like that will undoubtedly be perceived negatively.
