‘I’ve had grillings’ because Jeremy Doku scored an Amazing goal in his Second Appearance’-Man City Star shares what Pep Guardiola has previously slammed him for at Man City
Jack Grealish has talked about some of the things Pep Guardiola has said to him during games at Manchester City.
The winger is in his third season at Manchester United, where Guardiola is in charge.
Even though he has won five big trophies with the Citizens so far, the Englishman has not always been treated well by his manager, as he has now revealed.
Grealish was asked how long it took him to fully understand what Guardiola was asking of him in a recent video posted on the club’s official YouTube account.
He said, “Listen, Pep has grilled me about what I’m doing in there, telling me to get back out there, stick to the game plan, etc.” But you can’t say anything bad about him—look at his resume—he’s won everything, so what do you say?
Grealish has played 93 times for Manchester City in all tournaments. He has scored 11 goals and set up 16 others during that time.
Back in January, the player said that it was harder than he thought to get used to City’s and Guardiola’s style of play.
The Spaniard then said that his style of play is simple but that he understood Grealish’s early struggles. It’s a big plus that, despite the previous grillings that the 28-year-old stated, the winger is now fully in sync with his manager and the way he should be playing.
Grealish has improved as a member of this team. In his first season with City, he played in 26 Premier League games and scored three goals and set up three others. Last season, he played in 28 league games and scored five goals and set up seven others.
