Manchester City has held Talks with Chelsea to Sign £250, 000k per week Chelsea Star

Manchester City are allegedly in negotiations with Chelsea about signing Reece James.

City are interested in adding Reece James to their roster, according to FootballTransfers, and have already made contact with their Premier League rivals.

Kyle Walker just signed a contract extension at the Etihad, but the right-back is now 33 years old, which explains why James is on the Citizens’ shortlist.

However, given that the Chelsea man was recently made captain and recently signed a new long-term contract, it would be surprising if he ended up joining Pep Guardiola’s team.

Chelsea will not be able to sell Reece James to Manchester City.
Chelsea fans would probably never forgive the club’s owners if James joined City in the near future.

The England international came through the Blues’ system and is now club captain and arguably one of the team’s finest players.

It would also convey the incorrect message. Chelsea are currently in decline, and moving their captain to the country’s top team would only demonstrate that they have no intention of ever returning to the top.

Supporters, on the other hand, need not be concerned about James leaving Stamford Bridge just yet. As previously stated, the defender’s deal is worth £250,000 per week (Spotrac). Todd Boehly and company are not in a position to even consider selling him.

James could be the ideal long-term replacement for Walker, but Chelsea would have to be insane to allow him to join their Premier League rivals.
